People still want to do good.

We believe that. Even when it's sometimes hard to remember.

Some of that shows up as local NGOs wanting to build something themselves — close to a problem they know, with the trust and the relationships it takes to fix it, but not the money it takes to do it.

The rest of it shows up as people who have money and want to see it do something real, usually far from the problem, with no direct way in.

For most of the last century, getting those two sides together ran through a handful of big charities.

Giving hasn't kept pace since. People still want to help — they book a flat on Airbnb without thinking twice and watch a ride show up on a map in real time. And then charity still wants a form filled in and a receipt mailed back six weeks later.

Meanwhile, the organizations doing the actual work still can't reach a donor directly. They depend on the same big brokers, and inherit decade-old databases and reporting built for periodic file transfers — not the community they serve.

And NGOs are becoming exactly the kind of target authoritarian regimes go after now that AI makes attacks cheap to run — running on systems that were never built to withstand that.

It's never been easier to reach someone three thousand miles away — and never harder for the people closest to a problem to reach the ones who could actually help fix it.

The line was never direct.

So we're building something to remove that barrier. And we're calling it Hyve.

Hyve is different in three crucial ways:

Hyve is open

No per-seat tax, open data model.

Unlimited seats and an open data model — NGOs grow their team without a licensing decision, and the data they put into Hyve stays theirs, in the open, always.

Hyve is direct

No broker sits in the relationship.

Donors get direct access to real, verified programs. NGOs get direct access to the fundraising market. No grant chain, no fundraising partner taking a cut.

Hyve is secure

Built local-first, with trust mechanisms at the core.

Mature software with resilient data structures, and automated trust mechanisms built directly into the relationship between NGOs and donors — trust that doesn't depend on either side's word alone.
